I graduated from Smith College in 2016 with a B.A. in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish and joined the Letai lab as a Research Technician shortly after. Together with Jeremy Ryan and Thelma Mashaka, the three of us work on the frontline to optimize and translate our flagship assay, BH3 profiling, from a bench to a clinical assay. Our research currently focuses on acute myeloid leukemia, with the intention of applying the assay to other hematological diseases. Our goal is to eventually use our assay to tailor treatments to patients. Our team also collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to develop biomarkers for their compounds, and we engineer new methods and techniques for the lab to adopt as new challenges arise.
Outside of the lab, I love hiking, photography, watching weird, cerebral movies, and cooking. I spend nearly as much time tinkering around in the kitchen as I do in the lab.
